It is an exploration of the relationship between space, time, and people. To make this "flowing thought" visible, we used spinning tops as a medium. Through 3D printing, we created spinning tops and experimented with embedding different pen cores inside. When set in motion by hand, they produced natural movement trajectories, building a connection between "object" and "field." We sought to document these trajectories and unexpectedly discovered that even slight variations in the force or angle of each spin resulted in entirely different patterns. These forms were born from unrepeatable physical moments. The dynamic motion of the spinning tops transformed abstract design thinking into a coherent and memorable visual language. In terms of material selection, we chose Japanese Sakura Snow paper. Its delicate, snow-like texture, combined with debossing techniques, resembles faint footprints left on a snowy landscape. As an "archaeologist" deeply rooted in folk culture, Kong collects old objects (referred to as fengwu) . The book adopts the traditional Chinese thread-binding format, with a red thread running through it as a visual motif. It systematically introduces the artist’s creative practice and reflections while constructing an immersive “exhibition on paper,” echoing his artistic narrative inspired by local culture. Through multiple in-depth conversations and a close reading of the artist’s diaries, one sentence stood out: “Art history has faded from my sight, for the folk is rich enough.” This deeply moved us and guided our search for inspiration within folk traditions. We ultimately settled on the traditional Chinese thread-bound book as the form, using a red thread—commonly seen in Fujian folk culture, where it is used to tie poultry, longevity noodles, and other symbolic items during the New Year—as a visual and structural device. This red thread divides the book into two main sections: an introduction to Kong Delin and a presentation of his works in "The Changing of Landscape-Things." It not only serves as an organizational element but also symbolizes the strong sense of kinship and cultural continuity present in the artist's work. In terms of reading structure, we innovatively designed a "dual-entry" binding—the book has no clearly defined front or back cover, allowing readers to enter from either end. One side leads into the artist’s private world, featuring his notes, documents, and manuscripts; the other presents a complete display of his creative works. These two reading paths converge at the spine, connected by the same red stitching, symbolizing the parallel and intertwined trajectories of the artist’s life and practice, while offering readers the pleasure of self-directed exploration. The exterior cover is pure white, while the interior pages are mounted on a solid black background. Readers must carefully cut open the pages with a paper knife, creating a gradual transition from light to dark—an immersive experience akin to stepping into a dimly lit exhibition space. During our search for paper, we came across "Yukou paper," a type native to the artist’s hometown. Though it was ultimately unsuitable for printing images due to its thinness, we were inspired by the traditional practice of stamping information along the edges of stacked paper sheets. This inspired us to print the book’s details in a stamp-like manner along its fore-edge. For the typography, we reconstructed a movable-type grid system, treating every character—whether Chinese, English, or punctuation—as an independent “type module.” Each element is meticulously aligned within an invisible yet precise grid, reviving the classical order and mechanical beauty of movable-type printing in a contemporary digital context. The book is printed on unbleached wood-pulp paper. Over time, the paper will naturally yellow and become brittle, mirroring the rusted iron and weathered wood in Kong Delin’s artworks. This evolving materiality echoes the theme of “The Changing of Landscape-Things,” transforming the book itself into an artistic object that grows and changes with time. 本书是为福建籍艺术家孔德林个展“风物变”所设计的同名作品集。孔德林是一位深入民间的“考古者”，长期收集旧物（风物）并进行再生创作。本书以古书线装为形态，并以一条红色脉络线贯穿，不仅系统介绍了艺术家的创作与思考，更在纸上构建出一个沉浸式展览，呼应其从乡土文化中汲取灵感的创作故事。 在数次深入对谈与翻阅艺术家日记后，一句“美术史已淡出我的视线，民间太饱满”深深触动了我们，促使我们走向民间寻找形式灵感。最终，我们定调为中国传统线装书，并以一条来自福建民间、常用于捆绑年节物品的“红线”作为视觉脉络，将全书划分为“孔德林介绍”与“风物变作品”两大板块。这条红线不仅是结构线索，也象征了艺术家作品中强烈的宗族与文化联结。 在阅读结构上，我们创新地设计了“双入口”装帧——书籍不设明确的封面与封底，读者可从两端分别进入。一端通向艺术家的私人世界，呈现其笔记、文献与手稿；另一端则完整展示其创作成果。两条阅读路径最终在书脊处交汇，由一道红色缝线贯穿，象征着艺术家生命中两大脉络的并行与交织，也为读者带来自主探索的叙事乐趣。 外部书封纯净洁白，内部作品页则全部置于纯黑色衬底之上，需借助裁纸刀逐页裁开，以此营造从明到暗、逐步步入展厅的沉浸体验。 在纸张探索过程中，我们于艺术家故乡寻得“玉扣纸”，虽因印刷适应性未能采用，但其侧面以印章标记信息的传统，启发了我们将画册信息同样以印章形式印制于书口。 排版方面，我们重构了一套活字印刷网格系统，将每个字符——无论中文、英文或标点——视为独立的“活字模块”，严格对齐于隐形而精确的网格中，以此在现代数字排版中重建传统活字的秩序与机械美感。 全书选用未漂白的树浆纸张，随着时间推移，纸张将自然变色、变脆，与艺术作品中锈蚀的铁、斑驳的木彼此呼应，共同演绎“风物变”这一主题，使书籍本身也成为一件随时间生长的艺术载体。 emotions and associations. We utilized AI image generation tools to create a vast collection of visual materials, from which three images that best represent a continuous "formal metamorphosis" were selected to form a complete visual narrative. The series is titled "Metamorphosis"—a term that refers both to the transformational life cycle of insects and implies a kind of beauty that transcends convention through the grotesque. The three images progressively evolve, depicting the gradual progression and mutation of life forms within fictional scenarios. Ultimately, the compelling evolutionary quality of this visual sequence naturally guides viewers to contemplate themes such as "evolutionary theory" and "artificial life." Through this, the work achieves a transition from formal exploration to conceptual expression, demonstrating the potential of visual language itself to provoke deeper reflection. https://7654321.design/1090-Days 1090 Days2023 Poster Design Over the nearly four years of the global COVID-19 pandemic, "disinfection" has become a defining act of the era, deeply etched into the collective memory. Using posters and calendars as mediums, we have condensed this period into a "Memory Development" installation—it is not only a record of time but also a medium to awaken shared memories. The core of the installation is a calendar documenting the 1,090 days of the pandemic in China (from lockdown to reopening). We abandoned the Gregorian calendar and followed the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, dividing the period into the Year of the Pig (Jihai), Year of the Rat (Gengzi), Year of the Ox (Xinchou), and Year of the Tiger (Renyin), weaving this unique time into a localized narrative. The text on the calendar is deliberately hidden and requires a "disinfection" act to develop: after spraying disinfectant (sodium hypochlorite), the blank areas gradually fade within minutes, revealing the hidden text. This design elevates "disinfection" from a functional act to the core creative medium—each spray becomes a profound dialogue with the memory of the era. To achieve this effect, we conducted numerous experiments. Initial attempts with traditional batik's hot wax resist technique failed, leading us to transparent water-based UV ink screen printing. Once the ink penetrates the paper and dries, it becomes completely invisible yet resists the bleaching effect of the disinfectant, ensuring the text appears clearly. The paper chosen is blue-washed paper, whose hue closely matches the color value of hospital bedsheets, evoking associations with pandemic-related scenes. The final work transcends the limitations of visual design by incorporating the interactive act of "disinfection," extending from action to visual documentation, and merging calendars and posters in a cross-disciplinary fusion. As each person sprays the disinfectant differently, the fading effect on every calendar is unique. Koehler Paper®, part of the Koehler® Group, boasts a history of over 215 years and boasts eight production sites worldwide, producing over 500,000 tons of specialty paper annually. 2025Visual DesignA limited co-branded "Giant River" Swan Electric Lamp, jointly launched by Nidea.Nlight and 8Immortals. "Nidea.Nlight" is an independent product design brand based in Xiamen, dedicated to cross-disciplinary collaborations that allow the electric lamp to evolve into diverse forms through creative partnerships. "8Immortals" is an independent rock band long active in Beijing's music scene, blending the raw energy of garage rock with the allure of Eastern psychedelic aesthetics to construct a bizarre and fantastical auditory world. During the design process, we drew inspiration from fan comments describing the album "Giant River" as "Chinese cult classic," which became the visual tone for this project. Inspired by the track "Swan," we created the core image of a "two-headed swan," merging the grotesque shows of Western circus culture with Eastern mythological legends, echoing the themes of cult and fantasy. The lamp concept features a "purple &nbsp;tunnel," symbolizing a portal into chaotic unknown realms. Light spills from this opening and starry perforations, with the two-headed swan emerging at the tunnel's end, inviting viewers into a surreal and fantastical journey. The band's English name is rendered in a Gothic punk typeface, subtly incorporating the lyrical motif of "rose thorns." Adjacent to it, a small characterless seal embossed with hollow blocks forms the Arabic numeral "8," representing the band. A spark of inspiration originated from the "18+" label on a whiskey bottle. One slightly intoxicated evening, a question arose: What else can one do after turning 18 besides drinking? This led to a year-long side project—a special creative series. While alcohol and intimate products may seem unrelated, they share a common ground as adult-exclusive experiences: alcohol can awaken sensory instincts, while intimate products are designed for adult exploration. With this core idea, we creatively merged the two—using bead-shaped stoppers as bottle caps, draping whips along the bottle body, connecting twin bottles with cuffs, dressing bottles in fishnets, and adding studded details. Throughout the creation process, we meticulously refined textures of materials like leather, metal, wax, and adhesive tape, striving for a sophisticated and restrained visual aesthetic. The rendering and retouching process nearly "drove the artists crazy," ultimately resulting in a visual experiment that defies easy categorization. This series is paired with ambient AI-generated music by the musician "HeZhe Leopard Temperament," forming a complete audio-visual experience. Through "18+," we explore the boundaries of sensuality, infusing the designs with bold confidence—a calm expression of maturity and a playful provocation of imagination. 18+以后除了喝酒还可以干些什么？ 一次“起心动念”，源于威士忌瓶身的“18+”标识。某天微醺时，我们忽然生出一个疑问：除饮酒外，18岁以后还可以干些什么？由此，我们在工作之余耗时一年完成一组特别创作。 酒精与情趣用品虽看似无关，却同属成人专属——酒后易唤醒感官本能，情趣用品亦为成人体验。以此为核心，我们将二者创意融合：口珠作瓶塞、鞭子垂挂瓶身、镣铐串联双瓶，为酒瓶套网袜、加乳钉…… 创作中，我们极致打磨皮革、金属、蜡、胶布等材质的质感，力求呈现高级克制的视觉效果，过程几乎“逼疯”渲染师与修图师，最终作品成为一个不知道如何定义的视觉实验。 As an independently bottled whisky, it is rare to use the official name "Ardbeg" directly, but in order to live up to the distinctive Ardbeg style of this wine, we chose the iconic building of Islay - the cross, which originated from Kildalton, an ancient parish on the island. The main feature is the Celtic cross with a history of more than 1,200 years. As one of the important cultural symbols of Scotland, the Celtic cross carries a heavy history and is often used in the form of a stone tablet, becoming a representative of sacredness and power. For local people, the cross is a symbol of culture and a source of pride. They not only record the past, but also reflect a lasting cultural identity and the Celtic people's respect for the wisdom and beliefs of their ancestors. The packaging uses the Kildalton Celtic Cross near the Ardbeg Distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland as the main visual symbol, while combining light and the distinctive traditional thing of Ireland - the Celtic knot, which means eternity and sacredness. "Summer" and "washing" are the keywords of this exhibition. "Summer" is in line with the designers' memories and feelings of summer, and "washing" is a type of washed paper promoted in this exhibition. The main visual hopes to use the most direct characteristics of "washed paper" to communicate with the public. I believe that the participating designers have already demonstrated its diversity and possibilities on washed paper. All I need to do is simply let it tell everyone: "I can be washed", so I chose the "wash label" as the creative output of the main visual. It is worth mentioning that we put the invitation letter and ice cubes into a sealed bag, vacuumed it and mailed it. This method allows the invitees to directly feel the characteristics of washed paper and arouses their desire to visit the exhibition. “夏日水洗”是由蓝碧源艺术纸主办的一场设计师邀请展，“夏日”和“水洗”，是本次展览的关键词，“夏日”应景着设计师们对夏天的记忆与感受，“水洗”是本次展览主推的一款水洗纸张。 主视觉希望运用“水洗纸”最直接的特质与大众进行一次交流。相信参展的设计师们已在水洗纸上体现了它的多样性与可能性，我需要做的只是单纯地让它自己告诉大家：“我是可以水洗的”，于是选择了“水洗标”的方式作为主视觉的创意输出。值得一提的是，我们将邀请函与冰块放入密封袋，将其真空后进行邮寄，这一方式让受邀请者直接地感受到水洗纸的特质，且引发他们的观展欲。 Designer_Bosen
